Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

The annotated version

If you'd rather not read a whole privacy policy to find out whether we sell your email address and other details, here's the answer: No.

We don't sell, rent, trade or give away your email address or anything else about you. Not to marketers. Not to data brokers. Not to Agents. We have been online since 2003 and have never done it once.

The whole shebang

This policy covers matrixeyewear.com, which is run by Coranova LLC in Troy, Michigan. It explains what we collect, why, who touches it along the way, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

When you order: your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number (the carrier wants it), and what you bought. Your card details go straight to the payment processor. We never see your full card number and we don't store it.

When you browse: the technical things any web server records: IP address, browser type, the pages you viewed and the site that sent you. Cookies are covered below.

When you email us: whatever you write, and your address so we can write back.

We don't market to children and never knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you think a kid gave us their details, email us and we'll delete them.

Why we collect it

To take your money and ship your sunglasses. To answer your emails. To find your order when you use the 365-day guarantee. To spot fraud. To see which pages people look at so we can fix the ones that don't work. That is the entire list.

Email

We send order confirmations and shipping notices because you'd be annoyed if we didn't. We don't send a newsletter.  We do occasionally send out emails for promotional purposes (Black Friday sales, Cyber Monday, etc.).  You can opt out of those at any time.

Who else sees it

Nobody sees more than they need to do their part of the job.

  • Shopify hosts the store and runs the checkout, so your order lives on Shopify's servers under Shopify's privacy policy.
  • Payment processors (Shopify Payments and Shop Pay, plus PayPal if you choose it) handle your card and see only what they need to charge it.
  • USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL get your name, address and phone number so they can deliver.
  • Google Analytics tells us how many people visited and which pages they looked at. It sets a cookie. You can block it with Google's opt-out add-on.
  • Meta (Facebook) pixel. If you look at the Morpheus and don't buy, Facebook or Instagram may show you an ad for the Morpheus. This is the one line in this policy you might object to, so here is how to stop it: block third-party cookies in your browser, or adjust your Meta ad preferences.
  • AI shopping assistants. If you find us through ChatGPT, Meta AI, Google, Claude or a similar assistant and buy there, that platform receives the order details needed to complete the purchase, under its own privacy policy. We receive the order the same as any other.

We hand over data when a court or the law requires it, and that's the only other case.

Cookies

Shopify sets cookies to keep your cart together and remember you at checkout. Analytics and the Meta pixel set theirs. You can block cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, though the cart may forget you between visits.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email purchases@matrixeyewear.com. We'll do it within 30 days and we won't charge you.

If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. If you're in California, you have the rights the CCPA gives you; since we don't sell personal information, there's nothing to opt out of.

One exception: we have to keep order records for tax and accounting purposes for seven years, even if you ask us to delete everything else.

Security

Shopify handles the hosting, the encryption behind the padlock in your browser, and the card-payment compliance. We use two-step authentication on our side. Nobody can promise perfect security and we won't pretend to. What we can promise is that we don't keep anything we don't need.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change matters, we'll say so on the site rather than hope you notice.
